Who can write? I have written for SpaAsia, am I still eligible?
As long as you have something worth saying related to the realm of spa and wellness, we want to hear your views. Yes, it is open to all. Writers who have contributed for us are most welcome.

How many words must I write?
We do not expect theses or novellas. Stories submitted must be between 1200 - 3000 words.

What assurance do I have that there will be transparency in the judging process?
What guarantee can we give that can convince the skeptics? But we certainly do not want to shoot ourselves in the foot by making a mockery of the trust that you will be giving us!
In order to ensure total impartiality and complete transparency, none of the SpaAsia staff will be involved in the judging process. They will only have access to the stories after the judging process has been done and decisions of the panel have been audited and finalized.

Who will judge my writing?
We will be lining up highly-qualified individuals who are leaders in their fields - members of the medical profession who are involved in the industry. These are spa related professionals - spa managers, doctors in medical spas, journalists, travel writers etc. to do justice to your contributions.

What restrictions are there, if any?
There is no restriction. Anyone can write. But it must be noted that If submitting stories to SpaAsia for the purpose of this contest is so stipulated, SpaAsia will not be held liable should there arise any legal complication by way of such infringement to contractual obligation that exists between writer and their employers.
Stories submitted come with the following express conditions:
- The story must have never been published elsewhere before or intended to be so published with other parties during the duration of the contest.
- SpaAsia has exclusive right to the story/ies during the duration of the contest and withdrawal of stories will not be allowed during that time.
- By entering their story/ies for this contest, the onus is on the writer to ensure that SpaAsia will not in anyway be implicated in any legal tussle over the story/ies that may arise from the writer's lack of judgment or misdeed.
- SpaAsia must be given the first preference to publish the stories after the duration of the contest, even if in the event that the story submitted failed to win any prizes, and the publisher is still keen to do so.
- However, SpaAsia is not in any way obligated to publish any story.

What is a paid column for a year?
The writer with the top-winning story has a standing commission to write for SpaAsia for a year at the published rate. The winning writer will be acknowledged as such in each of the story published with us as "Winner of SpaAsia's Writer's Award 2007".

Is that the only reward – all or nothing? What other subsidiary prize are there?
Apart from the main prize of US3000.00 there will be other prizes as well in the form or paid vacation to resorts and spa experiences and others. The exact nature of the subsidiary prizes will be posted at a later time. Efforts are now being made to facilitate winners of these prizes optimizing their reward. Working with our associates worldwide we want to ensure that winners do not have to travel far to enjoy the fruit of their effort through this contest.

What will happen to my story if I do not win any prizes or get short-listed?
The story/ies will be returned to you within a reasonable time to be stated.
