The Wellness Summit 2008 that took place from October 15 to 17, 2008 in Kuala Lumpur ended on a high note. Over 50 speakers presented 43 unique sessions to over 250 delegates from 28 countries.
The three-day Summit was themed Managing Change: Fostering Convergence, Narrowing the Divide. Several issues of deep concern were rasied, including the usual ones such authenticity of products, training and education, and human resource. Many delegates were concerned of the imperative for change within the industry resulting from the convergence of spa and medicine, and of holistic healing and wellness. But issues relating to the global economic turmoil took centre stage.
Compelling topics such as The Evolution of Spas Towards Life Management Programmes, How Far can Technology Complement Human Touch in Spas? and Spa & Wellness Industry: The Next Change were also raised.
